If there's a way through education to reduce the societal stress and tension, then we can perhaps prevent the outbreak of conflict. The idea of a department in the U.S. government dedicated to the prevention of war and the promotion of peace is very innovative and refreshing. I can't help think that with even 1% of the defense budget...."

I have been following this project for a few years now; pretty much since it's inception in 2005.
It is AWSOME !!!
From the Nav. bar at the top of the laptop.org site you can explore everything from thier Mission to hardware and software explanations.
-Their mission is what first interested me: basicly a $100 laptop for the education of 3rd world countries; most children in villages without electricity.
-You should definatly take a quick glance at the "progress" (or timeline) page. Pretty interesting how all these big corporations all got together on this one
